Join us as (Senior) Manager for our Accounting department in Luxembourg and play a pivotal role in building our Luxembourg office and shaping our global presence.

What You’ll Do

  • Help build out the accounting department of Taru, supported by the management team.
  • Liaise with clients confidently, proactively solving issues, and responding to inquiries. Take full responsibility for client relationships regarding accounting deliverables and timelines, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Arrange the accounting deliverables for a diverse portfolio of clients
  • Prepare NAV calculations, capital calls, distributions, waterfall calculations, carried interest, and other complex private markets calculations and services.
  • Review the work of the team members (bookkeeping, accruals, interest calculations, sales entries, fund movements, reconciliations according to Lux GAAP and IFRS).
  • Assist with investor processes and handle internal and external inquiries.
  • Preparation of financial statements in compliance with Lux GAAP and IFRS.Provide training, guidance and supervision to the team
  • Occasional travel in Europe
  • Supervise and liaise with partners and external service providers
  • Support the audit process to meet milestones and deadlines.
  • Participate in projects including working as part of a larger global team.
  • Participate in business development exercises and events together with our senior team
  • Assist with the interview process of new recruits

About You:

  • Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACCA).
  • Experience in managing client relationships preferably with another fund administrator
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in Private Markets in Luxembourg, preferably within a fund accounting team.
  • Thorough understanding of the fund administration business, Private Market structures, and accounting for alternative asset classes.
  • Solid understanding of the Luxembourg fund administration landscape, with a strong grasp of current trends and technologies.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and the fund industry.
  • Understanding of the regulatory and compliance landscape.
  • Fluency in English; (additional European languages are a plus.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a growing team, and to self-motivate.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop working relationships with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Team spirit and ability to work collaboratively – effectively be a nice person.
